About the lake
Five acres in the Loire Valley. Spring-fed, limestone, set up for one group at a time.
Lac de Lumière (Lake of Light) is a natural carp lake in the quiet countryside of the Loire Valley. Around five acres, fed from below by limestone springs.
Four double swims around the bank, each with room to spread out. Three anglers per group, four if you ask. Several bays and fishing areas, with depths from two to six metres, so each swim fishes differently.
When you book, you book the lake exclusively. No other anglers that week, no walk-up days. Just your group, the lake, and a week to fish it.

Armed Forces Covenant
Proudly supporting those who serve.
We are delighted to have been presented with the Bronze Armed Forces Covenant award. The principles and ethos of the covenant match our own.
Through our work with Phoenix Heroes CIC we've made carp fishing holidays available to veterans and serving forces under the guidance of PTSD professionals. With our 3-bedroom accommodation, we can now involve their families too.

“A real slice of Loire Valley gold. Steve the owner went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic week. Brilliant.”
A short drive away
Renaissance castles, palatial vineyards, world-class wines.
While the carp fishing at Lac de Lumière is great, you won't want to miss the other wonderful spots in the area. The Loire region is magical — primarily a wine-producing region known for Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé — with Renaissance castles and picturesque villages around every bend.
Our Location
The Loire Region.
Lac de Lumière is located in the Loire Valley wine region, one of the world's most well-known areas of wine production. It includes several French wine regions situated along the river from the Muscadet region on the Atlantic coast to the regions of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé just southeast of the city of Orléans in north central France.
